Reduced climate and environmental impact

Today, when developing new products, we always take into account the optimization of our products to make them as sustainable as possible, in terms of both their life cycle and the material they consume, without compromising on the purpose of the product, i.e. to protect people.

Being a supplier to demanding customers all over the world requires extensive quality work. We have a process for the identification, management and follow-up of non-conformances with regard to quality. Once a quality non-conformance has been rectified and investigated, the case is submitted for analysis, so that we can learn from it inhouse.

As many as 90% of our subcontractors are located within a radius of 100 km. We always strive to use local suppliers, both to ensure environmental impact is reduced and because our values dictate that we always seek long-term partnerships with everyone we work with. The purpose of the partnerships is not just to achieve better productivity and quality, but also to generate the right potential for focusing on sustainability aspects with the supplier.

Optimising our use of transport is an important issue. Through careful planning, we ensure that the transport shipments that leave us do so with a full load. In order to make the best use of transport space, we try to design our packaging and pallets for efficient packing. Good capacity utilisation and strategically controlled deliveries mean that emissions from transport shipments are reduced. Deliveries from us are mainly undertaken by boat or truck, while short-distance deliveries to the customer are made by truck.

Axelent strives to ensure high efficiency in our use of natural resources. As part of these efforts, we favour systems for recycling and the reuse of materials. Axelent’s mesh products are 100% recyclable, and we partner with market leaders in the recycling business. Axelent is also actively working to reduce scrap from its production, but here we find that we have the greatest impact if we concentrate on maximising the utilisation of our material.
